Baby treb is a short trebuchet useful for throwing golf-balls, and
Duplo blocks. It is also my first trebuchet, built by my Dad when
I was in high school.
Baby treb is 1.5 ft tall, with a 2.5 ft throwing arm.
The weight bucket is filled with bolts I found at a roadside
construction site.
I'm trying to teach my son Trevor about trebuchets.
Here you can see the ratchet recycled from some other mysterious
device my Dad had saved in his basement.
Ready to fire a dreaded Duplo block!
The trigger is a bit of cut metal. The chain link is wedged
between a block of wood, and the trigger point. The credit cards
prevent the trigger from turning and releasing the chain loop, and
flinging the Duplo block.
Awwww....
Thinking of building your own Baby Trebuchet? Consider purchasing this fine model of the Stirling Warwolf trebuchet from
trebuchet.com. There are many other trebuchet models available there as well.
If you want to build it yourself, consider picking up a CD of trebuchet plans, also available at trebuchet.com.
